Who is ​AVARA

AVARA – Estonian Business and Hospitality College builds on a long tradition of vocational and business education in Estonia.. Its predecessor, Tallinn School of Economics, was founded in 1906 and developed into a well-established provider of business education. Until 2016, the school provided both higher education and Level 5 vocational education. In July 2026, Tallinn School of Economics and Tallinn School of Service merged to form AVARA – Estonian Business and Hospitality College. Today, the college provides Level 4 and Level 5 vocational education in business, marketing, administration, commerce, hospitality, and beauty and wellness, with a strong focus on practical and labour-market-oriented learning.

Role and contribution

AVARA – Estonian Business and Hospitality College contributes to the DEGREE project through a multidisciplinary team combining expertise in education, entrepreneurship, sustainability, communication, business development and international cooperation. Heikki Põhi brings over 25 years of international management, communication, marketing and business experience. Rain Veetõusme contributes expertise in entrepreneurship, communication and content marketing, while Terje Alliksoo contributes experience in quality management, business processes, sustainability and vocational education development. Indrek Jänes brings extensive experience in business education and curriculum development. Anneli Pikkmets, International Cooperation Coordinator, supports project coordination, administration and cooperation with international partners.
